Petrolatum tape primer is the first component of a Petrolatum Tape System. Primer is used as a corrosion inhibiting undercoat prior to the application of petrolatum tapes. Applied by a gloved hand or stiff brush at normal ambient temperatures, Primers serve to penetrate existing rust, displace moisture, pacify the surface and aid in tape adhesion without drying, hardening or cracking.
Petrolatum Tape Application- wrapping of a non-woven synthetic fabric tape that is fully impregnated with a neutral petrolatum compound blended with inert fillers and corrosion inhibitors. When combined with a compatible primer and protective tape outer wrap, Petrolatum Tape will remain highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis and salts and will exhibit high dielectric strength.
Apply All-Purpose Protective Tape used as an outer wrap for increased mechanical strength and electrical resistance when applied over petrolatum tape. Composed of a tough, conformable, plasticized PVC material that is highly impermeable to water, water vapor and air, this final wrap assures excellent long term resistance to alkalis, acids, oil and bacteria even in the most aggressive environments.
is recommended when working with irregular shapes such as flanges, couplings, elbows, fittings or restraints. Profiling Mastic easily and permanently conforms to any shape, overlaying a smooth profile on irregular contours without voids or gaps which can then be easily and effectively wrapped with Petrolatum Tape.
